Is this carry appropriate for a newborn? I have a one month old who I am wishing to wear here soon for a plane ride, and Im looking for a safe way to wear her. If this isnt okay for a newborn with no head/neck control, is there a safer one?
Also, with the lengths, is the (m) indicative of meters? Thanks so much.
Most carries can be safe for a newborn, as long as you are aware of a tiny baby’s special needs. This carry was one of my favorites when my daughter was a newborn (here’s a picture of her in it at 7 weeks old). Just be aware of baby’s lack of neck control (if her head seems floppy, you can pull one of the panels up high on her shoulder to support her head), and check her breathing regularly (make sure that her airway is always clear, that her face isn’t covered by the wrap, and that her chin doesn’t press tightly to her chest).
And yes, the length is in meters (most wraps are sold measured in meters).
Hope this helps!
