Jordan’s Back Carry with Chest Belt

Instructions for JBC w/CB (Jordan’s Back Carry with Chest Belt)

This carry is a variation on the original JBC. If you prefer a chest belt to rucksack straps, then this is the carry for you!

In these instructions, baby is 7 months and the wrap is a Didymos Kobalt Wool Indio 4.7m.

First, assemble your tools. ;)

Find the middle of your wrap.

Put the wrap on baby’s back.

Put wrap on baby

Get baby on to your back.

Get baby on your back

Get baby up high on your back.

Take one side of the wrap over your shoulder.

Take wrap over shoulder

Make sure baby is in a good deep pouch seat.

Bring the other side of the wrap over baby’s leg and under your arm (like in a Rebozo Back Carry); tighten really well.

Grab both straps.

Tie a chest belt (a half knot).

Take the strap over your shoulder.

Spread the wrap across baby’s back.

Put wrap under baby’s leg and bring to the front.

Put wrap under baby's leg

Tuck that strap between your legs and grab the other strap.

Grab other strap

Take the top rail and spread the strap out under your arm.

Take strap under arm

Spread the wrap straight across baby’s back and tighten well.

Tie in the front.

Tie knot

All done!

For comfort, I like to spread the shoulders out.

    I like the chest strap as I as I find rucksack straps uncomfortable for me. :-)
