Robin’s Hip Carry is definitely a more advanced carry. It’s fairly tricky to get a good seat in this carry, and requires a good bit of practice to get it right. And you did the right thing by having your hand beneath your baby; any time you try a new carry, you should always have one hand on baby until you are certain you have it secure. If this hip carry doesn’t work for you, then just try some other ones; that’s one of the wonderful things about wrapping: so much versatility!
I tried the Robin hip carry and it was so unsafe. My baby fell right out from underneath. Than G-d my hand was there.

I love this one! It is a cuter way to do a hip carry:)
such a great alternative to the cross carry hip….those always seem to dig into my hips after a while. This one is more comfy
