hi, just letting you now that i have a sleepy wrap for a heavy baby -- born at 10pound7 -- and as long as you tie it snugly to your own body then the heaviness of the baby doesn't affect it - I have four kids and this is by far the best sling or carrier i have tried.

Hi, I have bought several wraps and slings on Etsy.com. Generally less expensive than brand names, and I've been very satisfied.

Actually, you should NEVER, NEVER, NEVER wrap a baby on your back in any stretchy wrap, only wovens. It is unsafe and a baby could fall out and hurt themselves badly. Stretchies are good for up to 15lbs then you need a woven so if money is tight maybe a woven to start with would be best. They have great resale value, and you can buy cheaper gently used wraps on sites such as The Babywearer and Baby Center's Babywearing Swap board.
